Vertigo Treatment

Millions of people across the world suffer from vertigo, an extremely uncomfortable symptom of what usually is BPPV or Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. What many people do not know is that physical therapy is the number 1 treatment for BPPV symptoms! What is BPPV? Crystals within the inner ear can migrate from their normal location and become lodged in a more sensitive area resulting in dizziness. These are normally located in the utricle and saccule in the inner ear.

Dry Needling

Physical therapists utilize dry needling to reduce myofascial restrictions and pain secondary to trigger points. Trigger points are “knots” or areas of muscle tissue restrictions that are tender to touch and can cause pain in the surrounding areas. A very thin needle is pushed through the skin into the trigger point to release the tight muscle bands and decrease the associated pain.

Chronic Pain Treatment

Chronic Pain” is defined as pain that continues without relief for longer than six months. This condition is often frustrating and debilitating, and in severe cases can result in job loss and lower quality of life. Many patients have been evaluated and treated by multiple health care professionals, but continue to experience pain.
